A Michigan man is facing charges after he allegedly beat a woman and her dog before stealing her car.
The incident was reported to police on Tuesday (August 24th) after the bloody, shirtless woman ran up to a home in Allouez telling the homeowner about the situation.
She claims that her boyfriend, 38-year-old Chad Carlson of Cornell Michigan said he cheated on her, which naturally upset her.
The victim began to walk away, but Carlson reportedly chased after her, choked her to the point that she nearly passed out, and the two ended up falling down a set of stairs.
The woman was able to run outside, and get help from a delivery driver, who brought her to a neighboring house to call the police.
The driver also reported seeing Carlson slam a St. Bernard to the ground and beat the dog.
As police were on their way, Carlson got into the victim’s car and drove away. Carlson was arrested in Sheboygan County after he was stopped for suspicion of drunk driving.
He has been charged with First-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Aggravated Battery, Strangulation and Suffocation, and Intentionally Mistreating Animals among multiple other charges.
