A 36-year-old man has been sentenced for the death of a 10-month-old baby he was looking after.
Freddy Colon will spend the next 15 years in prison after he was found guilty due to a no-contest plea on a charge of Neglecting a Child Resulting in Death.
The incident occurred on December 9th, 2018, where Colon had abused the child resulting in bleeding behind the young boy’s eye, and bruises on the brain.
Colon was interviewed multiple times, changing his story each time.
Another child in the home, a 4-year-old boy, told police that Colon “spanked the baby because he’s always crying”, and that the baby stopped crying after Colon hit him.
Colon will also spend 10 years on extended supervision following his release.
