Former Wisconsin Badger Hilary Knight has become the all-time scoring leader in women’s world hockey championship history.
Knight scored her 45th goal Tuesday as the U-S routed Russia 6-0 in Canada.
She passed former US star Cammi Granato with her second-period goal.
She also tied Granato for total points – both athletes have 78.
At the same time another former Badger, Brianna Decker, became the all-time U-S assists leader with 39.
The U-S has started the tournament with three straight shutouts.
It will put a 29-game winning streak on the line Thursday when it takes on Canada.
