The Sheboygan County SaberCats were able to overcome an 18-0 halftime deficit to win the first-ever Midwest United Football League Championship on Saturday.
The Cats battled the Milwaukee County Chargers at Hart Park in Wauwatosa, winning the contest 27-24.
This is the second time in three weeks that the SaberCats were able to come from behind to beat the Milwaukee team, as they wiped out a 22-6 deficit in the final game of the regular season to earn the #1 seed entering the playoffs.
Head Coach and General Manager TJ Schouten went to Facebook following the win, where he said “I have really enjoyed this season, and I am proud of my team! I couldn’t have asked for a better season.”
