The Manitowoc County Historical Society has received a Wisconsin Humanities Recovery Grant.
The museum’s project, “Bringing Local History back to Life”, supports Wisconsin Humanities’ mission to strengthen the roots of community life through educational and cultural programs that inspire civic participation and individual imagination.
Wisconsin Humanities Recovery Grants help our state prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from the coronavirus.
Funding for these grants is provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Rescue Plan.
The grant received by the Manitowoc County Historical Society will provide relief for operations impacted by the pandemic and to sustain the museum’s award-winning humanities programming to the public.
Grant funds will provide for general operating expenses, staffing, and online collection access, as well as additional audio tour devices to allow for increased self-guided tour options.
