The Green Bay Packers will go back to work this week after dropping their pre-season opener to the Texans 26-7 Saturday.
Most of the starters sat out the game, which allowed some of the younger players a chance to show what they can do.
That included quarterback Jordan Love — who started the game and led an 80-yard drive for their only touchdown. Love finished the game 12 of 17 for 122 yards and the touchdown before hurting his shoulder and leaving the game.
Love’s status for the second preseason game against the New York Jets Saturday is unknown.
The Packers also finally got a look at 2020 free agent receiver Devin Funchess in their preseason opener Saturday.
Funchess opted out of last season because of COVID-19 — and has looked good in camp.
He finished his debut in Green Bay Saturday with 70 yards on six catches — including a one-handed catch over the middle.
