A man has been arrested following a stabbing incident over the weekend in Manitowoc.
Officers were sent to the Subway restaurant located at the corner of 10th and Washington Streets at around 2:30 PM on Sunday (August 15th) to investigate the stabbing.
They quickly detained a 48-year-old man, and he uttered while in cuffs, “I told him I was going to kill him…and I did kill him.”
An officer spoke with the victim in the stabbing, who explained that he had a conversation with the suspect the day before while he was in the Manitowoc County Jail.
The suspect had reportedly offered to help the man, which he initially denied, but after being released, the victim called the suspect to get some help.
The victim claimed the man “turned on him”, and pulled a knife while they were outside of the restaurant.
The victim entered the building in hopes of not being stabbed, but the man swung at him, and cut him.
The suspect was arrested, and charged with Attempted 1st Degree Intentional Homicide, Disorderly Conduct, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
