With nearly 51,000 tons of foreign petroleum product imports, the Port of Green Bay saw total shipments of 215,020 tons of cargo in July.
The strong July statistics brought the foreign petroleum import total to more than 108,700 tons so far this year, compared to just 6,615 tons at this time a year ago. With nearly 54,000 tons of cement delivered in July, cement imports have reached nearly 200,000 tons for the year, about 8% above the shipments in 2020.
Meanwhile, salt imports totaled more than 42,500 tons last month, a significant jump from June when 16,800 tons were imported. Overall, Port cargo shipments have reached nearly 775,000 tons through July, down about 14% from the same period a year ago. A total of 23 ships visited the Port in July, bringing the 2021 total to 66 compared to 65 for the same time period a year ago.
