Wisconsin Wins (WI Wins) is a statewide program designed to decrease youth access to tobacco products.
The program helps reduce tobacco’s impact on Wisconsin by keeping these products out of kids’ hands.
The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids reports that 1,600 kids in Wisconsin under 18 become daily smokers each year and one in five high school students use electronic nicotine delivery systems otherwise known as vape.
At the website WITobaccoCheck.org, retailers and their employees learn about Wisconsin tobacco sales laws.
The site includes study guides and a quiz for employees.
Since 2019, over 1100 clerks in Manitowoc and Sheboygan counties took and passed the quiz.
