Rookie nose tackle T-J Slaton has one main job – stop running plays up the middle, but his coaches say he can help in another area.
Even though he may not light up the stat sheet, he can play a big role in the passing game by putting pressure on the opposing quarterback.
Slaton has impressed those coaches in the first 11 practices of training camp
They’ve been surprised by the athletic ability shown off by the six-four, 330-pound lineman.
If he can stuff the middle, that will free up Kenny Clark to move up and down the line, disrupting opponents.
Due to some recent injuries, Slaton has been taking a lot of reps with the Packers starting defense.
