A Manitowoc man is facing several charges after he was found to be in possession of Marijuana, and attempting to flee from police.
Officers were sent to the AmericInn on Hecker Road to conduct a welfare check. The employees had seen a man chasing a woman through the halls earlier in the day, and the man was known to have warrants out for his arrest.
When the officers located the 20-year-old man, he was in a vehicle with three other individuals.
The officers told him he was under arrest and asked him to get out of the vehicle. He finally did after officers pulled their tasers.
The man was found to be in possession of marijuana and a pill known as Alprazolam.
When the officer started to lead the man toward his squad car, the man broke free and took off toward the I-43.
The officer and the suspect’s friend all took chase, with the friends actually helping the police in arresting the man.
The suspect was arrested on charges of Possession of THC, his 2nd or Subsequent Offence, and an Illegally Obtained Prescription, Resisting an Officer, and four counts of Bail Jumping, one Misdemeanor, and three Felony.
