The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction is “strongly recommending” that school districts in the state use the updated COVID-19 guidelines as classes resume for the fall.
That would include requiring face masks to be worn and promoting vaccinations.
The D-P-I guidelines urge those districts to require masks for all students and adults while they are indoors and on school buses while maintaining three feet of distance between students inside classrooms.
State Superintendent Jill Underly says the state wants to keep schools open for in-person instruction while keeping kids, educators, and families safe.
