Suddenly the division lead doesn’t look that big and a big chunk of the rotation and the team’s closer are all on the COVID list.
The Milwaukee Brewers could have used a win over the Cubs Monday night, but their game was rained out.
There is some good which comes from that, as starter Freddy Peralta gets an extra day of rest.
Also, the Cleveland Indians dispatched the Cincinnati Reds 9-3, which leaves the Brewers on top of the National League Central Division with a 5.5 game lead over the second-place Reds.
The Cubs are 14.5 games back.
The Cubs and Brewers will now have a doubleheader today to make up for yesterday’s rainout.
Game one starts at 1:10 PM, with coverage on 107.9 FM WOMT beginning at 12:45 PM, and game two starts at 7:05 PM, also on WOMT.
