
The chairperson of the committee conducting one of three election reviews in Wisconsin is defending the validity of the subpoenas her group has issued.
The Legislative Counsel said only Assembly Speaker Robin Vos had the authority to issue subpoenas to compel testimony or produce records or documents.
State Representative Janel Brandtjen says she didn’t use Chapter 13.
The Republican says Chapter 885 spelled out how the subpoenas should be made out,
Officials in Milwaukee and Brown counties have been ordered to appear before her committee next month.
Those officials haven’t said if they will comply.
