A track-and-field star from Rice Lake will be bringing home a silver medal when he returns from the Tokyo Olympics.
Kenny Bednarek ran a personal-best time of 19.68 seconds in the 200 meters Wednesday to find second.
He was just .06 seconds behind Canada’s Andre de Grasse.
The 22-year-old Bednarek had won his quarterfinal heat.
Bednarek is the second Wisconsin athlete to medal at this summer’s Olympics, as Waterford’s Madelynn Bernau won the bronze in mixed trapshooting.
