More Than 500K People Helped GoFundMe Set Single-Day Giving Record After George Floyd’s Death Credit: Courtesy GoFundMe
Every time someone dies in an accident, the families and friends of the victims are showered with an outpouring of thoughts and prayers, but sadly, thoughts and prayers don’t pay the funeral costs.
A traditional funeral in Wisconsin costs around $8,000, and even on the low end, runs around $4,500, which is why you see many grieving families set up crowdfunding pages on sites like GoFundMe.
That exact thing has been done for the family of the father and daughter who drowned in Lake Pentenwell in Adams County.
Aurora and Andrew Nett had jumped into the lake to help several children who were struggling to stay afloat.
Their bodies were discovered on Monday (August 2nd).
As of this morning, the GoFundMe page has had 93 contributors and has raised over $13,000.
