A woman was on her way to drop paperwork off at a lawyer’s office in Manitowoc when she landed herself in even more legal trouble.
The woman was caught speeding in the 200 block of Maritime Drive at around 4:15 Monday afternoon (August 2nd), and an officer pulled her over.
She told the officer she had to drop paperwork off with her lawyer and was in a hurry.
When the officer went to run her information, the 50-year-old woman took off.
She was able to elude the officer, but later called and explained that she was parked near the Police Department on Jay Street.
When the officer asked her to exit the vehicle because she was under arrest, the woman refused and held her door shut.
The officer, now with backup on hand, drew his Taser, and she then exited the vehicle.
While being booked into the Manitowoc County Jail, the woman reportedly admitted to fleeing from the traffic stop, and said, “I need to pay the price for driving away from an officer.”
She has been charged with Fleeing from an Officer and Resisting Arrest.
