Details have not yet been fully explained, but the Appleton Police Department had officers near the downtown area yesterday (August 2nd) responding to a “situation, possibly involving a weapon.”
That announcement was made on social media at around 1:00 PM, with the only detail included is that it was an unknown situation in the 300 block of East North Street.
Traffic was asked to be rerouted around the area, until about 3:15 PM.
At that time, another post was published, where the APD explained that the scene was clear, and one person was removed from the address “with potential charges for trespassing and damage to property.”
The investigation is ongoing, and no more details have been released.
