Two people were arrested over the weekend after an off-duty police officer witnessed a drug deal.
The witness was an off-duty officer with the Two Rivers Police Department, who just so happened to be at the Kwik Trip located at 401 North 8th Street just before midnight on Saturday (July 31st).
The officer told Manitowoc Police that he witnessed a man walk up to another vehicle, and pass a bindle of Heroin to a man in a second vehicle. He then followed one of the vehicles involved but lost track of it in the area of St. Clair and North 4th Street.
Manitowoc Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
K9 Major was called to the scene to conduct a sniff operation, which came back positive.
The two occupants of the vehicle, a 36-year-old woman, and a 37-year-old man were arrested on charges of Possession of a Schedule II Drug (namely Fentanyl), THC, and Drug Paraphernalia, with the woman also charged with three counts of Felony Bail Jumping, and the man hit with two Felony, and one Misdemeanor count of Bail Jumping.
