The Boys and Girls Club of Manitowoc County announced today the location for the county’s first-ever Boys and Girls Club, with plans to open later this year. The location will be at 3651 Dewey Street on the southwest side of the city.
The 9,000 square foot space will include two learning centers, an art room, STEM lab, games room, cafe, gymnasium, and more.
Executive Director Bill Bertsche says the start-up campaign has raised more than $1.8 million toward a goal of $1.9 million thanks to the generosity of dozens of local individuals, companies, and foundations.
The long-term plan for the organization, according to Bertsche, is to “construct a new and larger Boys & Girls Club facility on the storied Mirro site in downtown Manitowoc.”
