A decision from the Wisconsin Court of Appeals District II is expected today in the appeal case for Steven Avery.
The rural Mishicot man has denied killing Teresa Halbach in 2005, and the latest appeal of his conviction involves the review series of post-conviction decisions by a circuit court judge.
The motion, filed by Avery’s attorney Kathleen Zellner, asks to allow for the filing of a motion disclosing new evidence and to introduce a new suspect.
This new individual is a former newspaper delivery driver Thomas Sowinski, who was on the property delivering a paper in the morning hours the day the murder occurred.
Zellner went to Twitter yesterday to announce the impending decision, and said: “regardless of the outcome our quest never ends until Steven is free.”
