A Manitowoc woman was bitten by a dog earlier this week, and the police are looking for more information.
The 48-year-old victim was sitting on the ground with her son in the area of Lakeview Drive between Madison and Quay Streets at around noon on Monday (July 19th), when the dog approached them.
The Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull mix clamped down on the woman’s right forearm as she shielded her son from the canine, which was described as being brindle in color, with a little white on the chest and feet.
The canine then fled south on Lakeview Drive, and no owner was ever seen.
Anyone with any information on the incident, including who the owner of the dog is, is encouraged to contact the Manitowoc Police Department Shift Commander at 920-686-6551 or Crime Stoppers at 920-683-4466. You can also utilize the P3 app.
