A Manitowoc man was arrested yesterday (July 21st) after he attempted to break into his girlfriend’s home.
Officers were called to the victim’s home in the 1300 block of South 21st Street at around 10:30 AM on Tuesday (July 20th), but by the time they arrived, the suspect was no longer there.
The victim explained that the two were in an on-again-off-again relationship, and the man would stay with her when things were going well.
She explained that she had learned of some infidelity by the man, and kicked him out of the home, but he came back and wanted his things. She told him she would leave them by the garage, but the man attempted to break in anyway.
He also may have caused damage to the woman’s car before fleeing the scene.
Officers were finally able to locate the 38-year-old man the next day, walking in the area of North 11th Street and New York Avenue. Officers identified themselves, and the man walked away, so they placed him under arrest.
After a short verbal altercation, the man submitted and was arrested.
In total, the man was charged with Criminal Damage to Property and Disorderly Conduct, each with a Domestic Violence Enhancer, being a Felon Carrying a Concealed Knife, two counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping, and one Felony count of Bail Jumping.
