Jobless numbers in Manitowoc and Manitowoc County increased slightly in June.
Statistics released this afternoon by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development show the City’s unemployment rate was 4.5% –a half percent higher than May’s number of 4% and significantly lower than last June’s 9.8% rate.
The County’s jobless number for June is also 4% –an increase from May’s 3.5% and much lower than June of 2020 where the unemployment rate came in at 6.1 percent.
3.9% percent of Wisconsin’s workforce was considered unemployed –unchanged from May– which is 2% lower than the national unemployment of 5.9%.
