After being stuck open for two weeks, the Mason Street Bridge in Green Bay has been retracted, and traffic can now cross on it.
The DOT had predicted that it could take until July 31st for the issue to be fixed, however, they reopened the Bridge at 4:00 Tuesday afternoon.
The bridge got stuck after corrosion on a pinion bearing on the northeast corner of the bridge resulted in some gears not lining up properly.
The DOT is reporting that there is no structural damage to the bridge itself.
