A Manitowoc man is facing charges after he reportedly attacked his girlfriend during an argument over a softball game.
Police were called by a third party at around 8:00 AM on Tuesday (July 20th), who reported that a physical altercation was taking place inside a home in the 700 block of North 5th Street.
The caller also informed the Manitowoc Police Department that the male suspect had fled the scene.
The man was located a short while later on Huron Street, just east of 5th Street.
He denied any physical altercation occurred, but the female victim claimed the two had gotten into an argument over a softball game.
The woman admitted to throwing a vape pen at the man, which he responded to by punching her and pushing her to the ground.
The victim claimed to have trouble remembering exactly what happened because she hit her head but remembered that the man had also strangled her with two hands.
The 35-year-old suspect was arrested on charges of Strangulation and Battery, each with a Domestic Violence Enhancer.
