A home in Oshkosh caught fire over the weekend, and several police officers wasted no time in rescuing the family trapped inside.
The Oshkosh Police Department reports that the fire in the 1600 block of Western Street was reported at 7:40 AM on Saturday (July 17th), with the caller informing authorities that she, her two children, and her pets were trapped on a roof in the rear of the residence.
When they arrived, three police officers teamed up to rescue everyone from the roof, while fire crews were en route.
Everyone was rescued from the home, but two of the officers had to be taken to a local hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.
A video of the incident has been released, which you can watch below.
A full damage estimate is not yet available, but we do know that there was extensive damage to the home, which had no working smoke detectors.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
