When 63-year-old Lowell Bennett crossed the finish line at Wisconsin International Raceway last night, he secured his first win at the track since 2017.
Bennet, a Neenah resident, took the lead in the Super Late Model Feature on lap five and never relinquished it. Bennett praised the work of his pit crew, saying they “have never given up on me”.
Other winners at the quarter-mile track in Kaukauna were hometown racers Nate Van Wychen and Jerry Schneider in the Late Model, and ¼ mile Late Model features, Andy Casavant of Appleton in the Super Stock Feature, and Hilbert resident Mike Byrge in the Sport Truck feature.
Next up at WIR is Brisco Services night at the track. Racing gets underway at 6:30 PM next Thursday evening (July 22nd).
