Bridge decks on I-43 in Manitowoc County will be getting a thin protective overly starting next week.
The state Department of Transportation says a polymer overlay will be applied to 19 of the bridge decks in the county.
The overly is intended to protect and prolong the life of the bridge deck.
It minimizes future maintenance costs and increases the time before a more costly deck repair is needed.
Starting this coming Monday (July 19th) I-43 will be open to traffic with single-lane closures when work is conducted at a bridge.
Minor delays may occur.
The work is being done by Ram Construction Services from Livonia, Michigan.
