Charges have been filed against a Manitowoc man who police say broke a 72-hour no-contact order immediately after being released from jail.
Officers had arrested the 36-year-old man last Thursday (July 8th) on charges of Disorderly Conduct with a Domestic Violence Order.
The man was released from jail later that day on a signature bond, stating that he would not commit any crimes, or have contact with the victim for 72 hours. Not long after his release, the man reportedly began banging on the victim’s front door, calling her derogatory names.
The man was gone by the time police arrived just after 6:30 PM on July 8th, but the man was not done.
Police were called again on Saturday (July 10th) to the Courthouse Pub for another domestic violence no-contact violation by the same man. The victim told police she heard someone in her home earlier in the day and went to investigate, only to find the suspect in her kitchen.
She claimed he said something to the effect of tick-tock, the clock is ticking, in reference to the end of the 72-hour no-contact order.
The man has not yet been located, but charges of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping and two counts of Violating a 72-hour Domestic Abuse Order have been filed against the man.
