A Manitowoc woman reportedly became heavily intoxicated over the weekend and attempted to kick and bite Manitowoc Police Officers.
Police and Ambulance were called to a home in the 1000 block of North 23rd Street on a report of a woman lying on the ground having trouble breathing. The woman was speaking incoherently to authorities and was slurring her words as she fought with EMS and Police personnel.
Friends of the woman told officers that she had consumed approximately one bottle of vodka throughout the day.
The woman was taken to Aurora Medical Center for treatment, where she continued to be violent, allegedly kicking, spitting, and biting at police and medical personnel. She had to be strapped to the bed in order to receive treatment, but not before she was able to scratch an officer on the arm.
It was also learned that the woman had gotten into a physical altercation with her boyfriend, injuring him in the process.
The 41-year-old woman has been charged with Battery, with a Domestic Violence Enhancer, and Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer.
