A Green Bay man is dead after drowning in the Peshtigo River in the Village of Crivitz over the weekend.
The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that they were called at around 3:30 PM on Saturday (July 10th) to aid a man who had gone under the water while tubing near Don Brooks Park in Crivitz.
Crews quickly arrived on the scene and located the body of 40-year-old Anthony Rogers of Green Bay.
He was pronounced dead just after 6:00 PM. Authorities say the man appeared to not be a strong swimmer and was not wearing any floatation devices, which may be contributing factors to his death.
The incident is still under investigation, and an autopsy is scheduled to take place today.
