The sport of paintball is a fun way for people to blow off some steam, and get active for a while, but when the paintball guns are pointed at vehicles out in public, it is no longer fun for the victims.
That is a problem that the Sheboygan Police Department is looking into, as they have received multiple reports of vehicles being vandalized.
One victim claimed their vehicle was hit while parked near King Park on Tuesday (July 6th), and another said their home was hit on Wednesday.
In a post on Facebook, the Sheboygan Police Department stated, “It is illegal to discharge a paintball gun in the City of Sheboygan (Ordinance 70-251). Furthermore, shooting a person with paintballs (without their consent) or damaging property with paintballs is a crime and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
Anyone with any information on this string of paintballing incidents is encouraged to contact the Sheboygan Police at 920-459-3333 or Crime Stoppers at 877-283-8436.
