Two members of the Valders High School Boys Golf Team have received Academic All-State Honors.
According to a release from the Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin, Jackson Olson and Michael Wallander of the Vikings were honored for their academic excellence.
In order to qualify for Academic All-State, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25, participate in at least 75% of their team’s varsity matches and be a sophomore, junior or senior who serves as a great example to others, proving that athletic & academic success are not mutually exclusive.
Olson and Wallander were recommended for the honor by Valders Golf Coach Charlie Lemberger.
The Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin (GCAW) stated that 3-hundred-11 students from 96-different high schools have been honored this year, with an average GPA of an exceptional 3.736.
