The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the person or people responsible for shining a laser at boats off the north pier on Saturday.
The suspect(s) were shining the laser at Water Safety Patrol and U.S. Coast Guard boats during the fireworks display at around 9:15 PM.
The Sheriff’s Office explained that this action caused the operators to have a temporary loss of vision.
Due to the number of people that were on the pier at the time, officials were unable to locate who was responsible.
Pointing a laser at a boat is actually a felony, and anyone with any information on who may be responsible are being encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 920-459-3111, or to leave a tip at CuffThem.com. Your anonymous tip could result in a reward of up to $1,000.
