A member of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers has wrapped up a portion of his professional baseball career on a high note.
Garret Mitchell, who is the top prospect for the Milwaukee Brewers, was named the High-A Central League Player of the Week for his performance in a six-game series against the Beloit Snappers.
Mitchell went 12-28 at the plate, reaching base seven strait times, and belting two homers in the last game, one of which was a grand slam.
After the final game of the week on Sunday, Mitchell also learned that the Brewers had promoted him to the Biloxi Shuckers, their affiliate in the Double-A South League.
