The Wisconsin Department of Justice is investigating after a Shawano County sheriff’s deputy shot a suspect in the Town of Red Springs. Investigators say the deputy was called to crash Thursday night and a man at the scene had a gun.
Authorities say the man raised his gun at the officer and the deputy shot him. The suspect was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No one else was hurt. The deputy was placed on administrative leave during the investigation.
No names have been released.
