One of the biggest causes Representative Paul Tittl of Manitowoc has run on is mental health, and an increase in spending on mental health programs is a major reason he voted in favor of the 2021-23 State Budget.
“When we invest in Mental Health, we help all Wisconsinites,” said Rep. Tittl, who noted many positive investments for mental health, helping people from all walks of life.
$12 million more will go toward mental health categorical aids, which is double from the previous budget, while $7 million will go for mental health collaboration grants, which is a 54% increase.
Tittl also said, “This is the most support a budget bill has seen in both houses in a generation.”
The budget passed 64-34 in the Assembly and 23-9 in the Senate and is now on its way to Governor Evers’ desk.
