Budgeting deliberations have begun for the Manitowoc Public School district in preparation for the coming school year.
Superintendent Mark Holzman said there was a preliminary budget meeting this week:
“We put together three different projections that we shared with our committee,” Holzman said. Those would entail a “$0 increase, a $39 increase, and a $200 increase to our per-pupil allocation along with a flat increase in our property value.”
Budgeting cannot be completed until the state legislature and the governor decide what state funding levels will be and enrollment levels are determined. That information will not come until sometime in September.
The district will hold a public hearing in October to set the final budget.
