While watching a fireworks show is entertaining, many people prefer to light their own on the 4th of July. However, if you do that in the City of Sheboygan, you could be slapped with a rather large fine.
The Sheboygan Police Department is reminding citizens that it is illegal to possess or discharge any fireworks within city limits, even if they were legally purchased in a different part of the state.
The city ordinance describes a firework as “anything manufactured, processed or packaged for exploding, emitting sparks or combustion, which does not have another common use.”
Those caught violating this ordinance can be fined over $375 per violation.
