The Wisconsin State Senate recently passed the 2021-2023 Biennial State Budget, and Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu is very pleased with it.
In a news release, he called the budget a “bi-partisan success story for our state” citing a $3.4 billion tax cut. According to LeMahieu, that was made possible due to “targeted investments in every essential function of state government” made by the legislature.
He also said that with the passage of the budget, “We doubled down on our past work with a historic budget that keeps the People of Wisconsin on course for another decade of prosperity and success.”
Also voicing his approval of the budget was Representative Tyler Vorpogel of Plymouth.
He cited the $650 million in property tax relief and increased investments in K-12 schooling as some of the biggest aspects of the budget. He said, “I hope that the Governor sees the budget we passed today for what it is, a budget that puts the people of Wisconsin first, and signs it as is.”
