Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers recently announced the recipients of a round of coastal grants administered by Wisconsin’s Coastal Management Program.
Sheboygan County made the list and will receive $1.41 million from the program, which aims to support quality of life, foster economic development, create resiliency, and protect and improve the Great Lakes resources in Wisconsin’s coastal communities.
The City of Sheboygan will also get a cut of the cash, with $25,000 going for the development of a Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan for the city, while another $25,000 will be used by the city to develop a Shoreline Restoration Plan.
Also of note, $30,000 will be used for the first phase of the Nine Key Element Sheboygan River Watershed Plan, which was submitted by the Lakeshore Natural Resources Partnership.
