A machine at a paper and chemical factory in Green Bay caught fire over the weekend, causing thousands of dollars in damage.
The Green Bay Metro Fire Department was informed of the fire at the Georgia Pacific plant at 1919 South Broadway Street just after 4:00 PM on Saturday (June 26th).
The fire reportedly started in the conveyor system after a stack of paper products overheated.
The blaze was extinguished by the sprinkler system in the building, but crews with the fire department aided in ventilating the building.
There were no injuries reported, however the fire caused an estimated $50,000 in damage.
