The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is warning consumers of a salmonella outbreak in packages of shrimp.
In a post on Facebook that was shared by the Manitowoc County Health Department, they warn that six people have gotten sick on the tainted shrimp, and two people have been hospitalized.
The affected shrimp was supplied by Avanti Frozen Foods and is sold under multiple brand names.
These include 365, Censea, Chicken of the Sea, CWNO, Hannaford, Honest Catch, Meijer, Open Acres, and Waterfront Bistro.
If you have any of these brands of shrimp in your freezer, be sure to throw them away, or return them to the store where they were bought.
