A man reportedly attempted to break up with his girlfriend yesterday in Manitowoc, and it ended in violence.
Officers with the Manitowoc Police Department were dispatched to a home in the 1400 block of Hillcrest Drive on a report of a domestic assault.
The victim told authorities that he had attempted to break up with his girlfriend, claiming she stole money and prescription medication from him.
The suspect was reportedly sitting in a chair in the family room when the victim confronted her. The suspect reportedly threw a drink at the victim after he told her to pack her things, and as he walked by her, she reportedly reached up and penetrated her fingernails into his skin.
The suspect fled the scene when the victim called the police, but she agreed to meet up with the police shortly after.
She was taken into custody on a charge of Battery with a Domestic Violence Order.
