The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has set a July 23rd deadline for agricultural producers and landowners to apply for the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) General signup. T
his year, USDA updated signup options to provide greater incentives for producers and increase its conservation benefits, including reducing the impacts of climate change and increased payment rates.
To enroll in the CRP General signup, producers and landowners should contact their local FSA office in advance of the July 23 deadline.
Offers can only be accepted on an appointment basis.
While USDA offices may have limited visitors because of the pandemic, Service Center staff continue to work with agricultural producers via phone, email, and other digital tools.
