100 years ago today, on June 16th, 1921, the Capitol Civic Center opened its doors for its first-ever show on the now-iconic stage.
In celebration of this monumental occasion, the Capitol has unveiled a piece of commemorative artwork created by local artists, Erin LaBonte and Don Krumpos of Younder.
The duo said of the piece, “Our goal was to highlight the colors and architecture of the theatre and create a vintage look reminiscent of the period.”
Those interested in purchasing one of a limited run of canvas prints featuring the Capitol’s commemorative centennial image should visit the Capitol’s website, CCCShows.org, and select “Buy Tickets.” The 18- by 24-inch canvas print is available for $50 plus tax.
