The Valders Girls Softball team road a strong fourth inning last night (June 14th) to advance in the WIAA Girls Sectional Softball Tournament.
The six-run the Vikings earned in the 4th inning was enough to topple New Holstein, as the Vikings won 8-5.
Carissa Hammel led the Vikings’ offense with three RBIs on three hits, two of which were home runs.
Berrin Vandenheuvel also drove in two.
Valders had a total of 11 hits as the offense was clicking, while winning pitcher Madalyn Lambert went the distance, giving up 8 hits, and striking out four.
The sixth-seeded Vikings will next take on the # 2 seed, Chilton on Wednesday.
