
In semi-pro football, the Manitowoc County Mariners lost to The Wisconsin Ravens 33 to 13 in a Northern Lights League game played Saturday afternoon (June 12th) at Walsh Field in Two Rivers.
Turnovers and penalties were the Mariners worst enemies.
A long touchdown pass from Marcos Alfaro Junior to Austin Isley was called back on a holding penalty, the Mariners gave up a first Half interception In the endzone, and while down 21 to 7 in the third quarter they failed to score on third and goal from inside the Raven’s one yard line.
Lance Billings and Andrew Hurlbert caught touchdown passes for the Mariners who fall to 0 and 4 while the Ravens win for the first time in four league contests.
The Mariners return to action Saturday afternoon in Seymour for a game against the Brown County Blackjacks. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
