A jury has ruled that the 19-year-old-man who was arrested for killing his grandparents in Grand Chute in 2019 is criminally responsible for the murders.
Alexander Kraus initially pleaded guilty to the crime, but retracted that plea, and entered a plea of not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.
The jury’s duty was to determine if Kraus lacked the mental faculties to understand the wrongness of the actions, he took on April 14th, 2019, which they decided he did.
Kraus is set to be sentenced on August 16th and is facing two lifelong prison terms.
Kraus was 17 at the time of the murders and was charged with two counts of First-Degree Intentional Homicide.
